This Return Policy applies to all orders placed through Little Ratel, a brand operated by Docscope AI Inc. ("Docscope AI," "Little Ratel," "we," "us," or "our").
Please read this Return Policy carefully before placing an order.
1. Personalized Products
All Little Ratel books are personalized and made to order based on the customer's submitted content, including names, photos, text, story details, and other customization choices.
Because each product is custom-made, we do not accept returns for personalized products, except as expressly stated in this Return Policy.
2. No Returns for Customized Orders
Due to the personalized nature of our products, all sales are generally final once production has begun.
We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds for reasons including, but not limited to:
- change of mind;
- accidental order placement by the customer;
- dissatisfaction with content submitted, selected, approved, or not fully reviewed by the customer;
- spelling, grammar, naming, image, layout, or other personalization errors originating from customer-submitted materials;
- minor color, cropping, alignment, or print variations that are reasonably inherent in custom printing;
- shipping delays caused by third-party carriers; or
- refusal to accept a delivered package.
3. Shipping Damage or Delivery-Related Issues
If your book is damaged during shipping or arrives in a materially damaged or unusable condition due to delivery-related issues, such as being torn, bent, crushed, stained, dirty, folded, or otherwise damaged in transit, please contact us at support@littleratel.com within 7 days of delivery.
We may request supporting evidence, including photographs of:
- the product;
- the packaging;
- the shipping label; and
- the damaged area.
If we determine, in our sole but reasonable discretion, that the issue was caused during shipping or handling after production, we may offer to reproduce and re-ship the book.
4. Printing Defects or Production Issues
If your order contains a material printing defect or production issue, such as:
- incorrect printing;
- missing or duplicated pages caused by production error;
- major manufacturing flaws;
- severe color deviation;
- major print defects affecting readability or appearance; or
- other substantial quality issues attributable to production,
please contact us at support@littleratel.com within 7 days of delivery and provide reasonable supporting evidence, including photographs where requested.
5. Remedy Limited to Reproduction and Re-shipment
Where a claim is accepted under this Return Policy, the primary remedy we may offer is reproduction and re-shipment of the affected product.
We are not obligated to provide a refund, return, or exchange unless we decide to do so in our sole discretion or unless required by applicable law.
6. Additional Shipping Charges
In cases involving shipping damage or accepted production or printing claims, the customer may be required to pay additional shipping charges for the replacement shipment, depending on the circumstances, destination, shipping cost, and carrier requirements.
Any decision regarding whether additional shipping charges apply will be made by us in our sole but reasonable discretion.
7. No Returns for Customer-Provided Errors
We are not responsible for, and do not offer refunds, returns, or free replacements for, issues caused by customer-submitted or customer-approved content, including:
- incorrect spelling, names, or wording;
- poor image quality, blurry photos, dark photos, or low-resolution uploads;
- formatting or layout choices selected or approved by the customer;
- dissatisfaction with story style, wording, tone, or personalization choices based on customer input; or
- any content issue that was visible in the preview or otherwise provided by the customer.
Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing all submitted materials and order details before completing their purchase.
8. Minor Variations Are Not Defects
Because our products are customized and involve digital previews, printing, trimming, lamination, and manufacturing processes, minor variations do not qualify as defects.
These may include, for example:
- slight color differences between on-screen previews and printed products;
- minor cropping or alignment differences;
- slight variations in print placement; or
- subtle differences caused by lighting, monitor settings, paper surface, lamination, or normal production tolerances.
Such minor variations are normal and do not entitle the customer to a refund, return, or free replacement.
9. Claim Review Process
To request review of a shipping or quality issue, you must contact us within the required period and provide all information reasonably requested by us.
We reserve the right to:
- request photographs or additional evidence;
- ask for order and shipping details;
- request reasonable proof of damage, defect, or delivery condition;
- require that the damaged or defective item be returned, where practical;
- deny claims that are incomplete, late, unsupported, or inconsistent with this Return Policy; and
- determine, in our sole but reasonable discretion, whether the issue qualifies for a remedy.
10. Non-Returnable Nature of Personalized Products
Unless we expressly instruct otherwise in writing, customers should not return personalized books without prior written authorization from us.
Unauthorized returns may be refused or discarded and may not result in any refund, credit, or replacement.
11. Cancellations
Orders for personalized products may not be canceled once production has begun.
If you wish to request a cancellation before production begins, you must contact us as soon as possible. We may, in our sole discretion, allow or deny cancellation requests.
No cancellation is guaranteed.
12. Limitation of Remedy
To the fullest extent permitted by law, where we accept a claim under this Return Policy, your remedy is limited to the remedy we choose to provide, which may include reproduction, re-shipment, store credit, partial refund, or another reasonable solution.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, emotional, or special damages arising from any product issue, shipping issue, delay, defect, or dissatisfaction with a personalized order.
13. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute for an order without first contacting us and providing a reasonable opportunity to review the issue under this Return Policy, we reserve the right to dispute the chargeback and provide supporting documentation, including order records, previews, production records, shipment confirmation, and communications.
14. Changes to This Return Policy
We may update this Return Policy from time to time without prior notice. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
